Born and raised in Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu, Grace Banu is a Dalit and trans rights activist. Having faced discrimination from an early age—her own family failed to support her—she became, against all odds, the first transgender person to be admitted to engineering college. Now Grace has adopted a trans daughter and continues to fight for dignity—both for herself and her community.
